The play was debuted on stage in 70s and from than it has turned out to be milestone of "Marathi Theater".
In the span of 40 years the lead role of this Classic Play has been performed by various talented actors like Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, Satish Dubhashi, Upendra Date, Yashwant Dutt, Chandrakant Gokhale, Madhusudan Kolhatkar, Datta bhat and Raja Gosavi., and now in its cinematic version the iconic character 'Ganpat Ramchandra Belvalkar' will be performed by excellent actor "Nana Patekar".
The movie is directed by Actor-Director "Mahesh Vaman Manjrekar" and produce by Nana Patekar and Vishwas Joshi under banner Gajanan Chitra, Fincraft Media & Entertainment PVT. LTD. and Great Maratha Entertainment Production.
The other important role in the film are played by Medha Manjrekar as Nana's wife, Neha Pendse as Daughter in law, Vikram Gokhale as friend, Mrunmayee Deshpande as Daughter, Ajit Parab as son and Sunil Barve as son in law.
The movie will be releasing on 1st January 2016.
