After the success of "Alyad Palyad", Pritam Patil is once again bringing a suspense thriller to the big screen. The very title "घबाडकुंड (Ghabadkund)" is striking—"घबाड (Ghabad)" means sudden wealth or fortune, while "कुंड (Kund)" refers to a well or a deep hollow. Blending these two ideas, the film weaves an intriguing story, with mysterious scenes being shot on the lavish set.
For the first time in Marathi cinema, such a massive set has been constructed, covering around 10,000 to 12,000 square feet. It includes a water reservoir, deep wells, ancient temples, and caves. Many mysterious and thrilling sequences will be filmed here, promising audiences a larger-than-life experience.
The star cast includes Devdatta Nage, Kushal Badrike, Sandeep Pathak, Shashank Shende, Prajakta Hanamghar, Smita Paigude-Anjute, Vaishnavi Kalyankar, Rocky Deshmukh, Aarohi Bhoir, and Sahil Analdewar, all set to play diverse and memorable roles. Alongside the cast, the crew is equally stellar, with screenplay by Sanjay Navgire and Akshay Dharampal, art direction by Yogesh Ingle, cinematography by Yogesh Koli, and editing by Saumitra Dharashivkar. The action sequences are choreographed by South Indian fight master Karthik, while executive production is handled by Akash Jadhav, makeup by Abhishek, and production management by Siddharth.
Presented by Icon D Style with special support from Valentina Industries Ltd., the film will release in three languages—Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu—at the beginning of the new year. Speaking about the project, director Pritam S.K. Patil emphasized that while the film is a big-budget venture with grand sets, music, cinematography, and computer graphics, the real essence lies in telling a story that connects with the audience. With “Ghabadkund,” Marathi cinema is ready to enter a new era of scale and spectacle.
